How long of contact does it take to contract genital herpes?

I was taking anti-viral medicine and applying anti-viral cream, but still had a small outbreak. I was wearing a condom while having sex and it ripped slightly. I pulled out in less than a second and put on a new condom. Question is, is that long enough to contract herpes?

All i can say is that the sore would have to have made a rubbing and grinding contact with her vagina. If this happened ups the odds. If the sore was covered then no risk for that area. But as you know even condom use is not 100% effective as shedding can also take place but not often.

Like I said, I did have a small outbreak. It was at the beginning stage - a bit red (bumps). The next day, it broke and became a scab.

Hi, without a herpes sore present highly unlikely as shedding does not occur that often
