Cold sore or other problem?

I am 18, in reasonably good health, I have Hashimotos and autoimmune hepatitis which is being treated at the moment with an immunosuppressant. For about a week I have had a small reddened spot in the right corner of my mouth. Originally it seemed to develop dry skin quickly which I picked off. Since then it developed the tiniest white spot right in one of the cracks and is only really seen when you look close with my mouth stretched open. I have been applying Vaseline everyday. There is little irritation and I also don't have any other symptoms. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly helpful.

ADDED INFORMATION: I quite often tend to drool every night on this side of this problem.
