confused and scared to my lab results...

I am 3 months pregnant right now and my OB-Gyne informed me that I am infected with Herpes. Based on my prenatal test, these are the following results:
HerpeSelect 1 IgG and HerpeSelect 2 IgG is negative
Herpes 1&2 IgM is positive resulted to 1.83.
TORCH PANEL IgM
toxoplasmosis IgM 0.60 (H) and CMV IgM 0.61
TORCH PANEL IgG:
Toxoplasmosis IgG 0.00, CMV IgG greater than 250 (H)
PREGNANCY (pre-natal)
Rubella IgG 84 (H)
Rubella IgM 0.19

My doctor told me to take Famvir 2x a day for five days and she also requires my husband to take that medicine for 5 days also. Plus I am going to take Josaxin 500mg 2x a day for 10days. I do not have any symptoms of blisters, itching, genital lesions, fever but very rare to had a canker sores or mouth ulcers. I'm very doubtful to take this medicines since I am pregnant.

Please help me understand my lab results and Is my lab results really confirms that i am possibly infected with that virus? ... Your help is really much appreciated!

sorry, all we do here is herpes test results.  you'll need to consult with your provider about your other lab results.

http://www.medhelp.org/posts/show/248394  is a prior post on herpes igm testing and why it's often falsely positive.

Thank you very much for answering my question. It is such a relief! From the moment my provider mentioned the diagnosis, my husband and I are very worried especially to our baby. I can't also sleep at night because I'm so upset.

We will do the next step you mentioned. You're very helpful to us.

I would like to clarify some information. Based on my lab results in Torch panel, my toxoplasmosis IgM is high and CMV IgG is higher than 250. What does it mean? I don't know if this is the proper forum to ask this question but could you please give me an idea of what it is? Secondly, why is my Herpeselect IgM result is higher than normal? what does it indicate? If someone is herpes positve, what would be the possible result of IgM? Lastly, when would the physician conclude that you are positive with that kind of disease? Again, thanks!

your provider misdiagnosed you as having herpes based on the igm testing. this is very poor medicine and they need to update their herpes testing knowledge immediately!

has your husband been tested for herpes? if not, that's your next step.

Your herpes igg testing is negative.
