continuous hsv outbreak since giving birth

I have had HSV type 2 for almost two years now. I didn't really have many outbreaks before I got pregnant. I had my son 10/2/10 and ever since I have had an outbreak. I have tried two different types of antiviral meds but nothing seems to be working. Is it possible that giving birth did something to my body? Is it stress or lack of sleep? Its been almost 3 months having sores and pain and I'm losing my mind. Any ideas on how to get it to clear up??

odds are this is more than just herpes going on.   do you know if they checked you for vaginitis when you were seen? did they do any swabs?

what are you currently taking for your herpes?

I havent had my hormones checked but I think if I asked my dr he would do it. He is a really great OB/GYN.

When I went in last week to have my post baby check up he said everything was looking good except for my sores.

I have had sores for 3 months but its not the same sore the whole time. I get the usual pain/tingle then a sore shows up followed by crusting over and going away. I have one day with no sore or pain and the process starts all over again in a different area. I am only getting two or three days a month with no pain/sores. :(

really?  In Canada if you ask to have them checked they will check them.

they rarely will check hormone levels to be honest. if you are young and otherwise healthy, they just don't do it.

definitely go to be seen and get properly tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally.  they can trigger recurrences of your herpes as well as mimic them. also they should be considering culturing them to confirm herpes as well as checking you for bacterial skin infections like MRSA too.

have you been having sores for 3 months solid?

Most likely it is from stress, low immune and hormone imbalances.

Try to get more sleep when you can if its possible. Go to the doctors to check your hormone levels.

I know that when I had my daughter I had a yeast infection that wouldnt go away and my hormones were way out of whack.

I didnt go to my doctor until  3 years later. I kick myself for that because once I went on the pill i felt 100% better.
