Reaction to Condom or STD??

I am a 25 yr old male.
2 weeks ago I slept with a female my age.
I used a trojan extended condom that a friend had given me to try (which is lined with a numbing agent called benzocaine).  Because I had been drinking prior to the encounter, the numbing agent made my penis totally flaccid.
I took the condom off and she persuaded me to continue unprotected.

3 days after the encounter I started to have some burning in my urethra.  It didn't sting when I urinated, but more so just burned for a few minutes after urination.  I was nervous so I went to see a urologist.  The doctor took a sample of my urine and looked at it under a microscope.  He told me there was no discharge and that I shouldn't worry about it.
He gave me a pill called cystex, that he said would soothe the pain.

A week later I still felt some discomfort in my urethra as well as some itching in my genitals.  I also felt some cramps in my pelvic area above my genitals.  Also I started having a lot of gas with the cramps.

I went to my usual doctor (different than the urologist) to see if he had a different diagnosis.  He said that the gas was unrelated and that the urethra discomfort could be many different things.  I told him that I was freaking out because I thought I might have genital herpes.
He said that it might just be a reaction from the numbing agent inside of the condom.
He prescribed me a weeks worth of antibiotic (doxycycline) and told me that I should come back in 4 weeks.

It is now 1 week after my last doctor visit (2 weeks and 1 day after the encounter)
I am still feeling the discomfort (burning) in my urethra and have still had extreme gas and occasional cramping.
I find myself constantly itching around my penis, testicals, and anus.
I have yet to have fever, discharge, or genital lesions.

Would a reaction to benzocaine last this long?
Or do I have an STD that is still remaining dormant?

PLEASE HELP!  Thanks

I cannot tell if I am being paranoid, or if there is a chance that I have genital herpes.

antibiotics of course will just make gas worse. they kill off the "good" bacteria in our bowels which can lead to excess gas.

all the itching sounds more like a fungal infection from long term antibiotics than it does std related.

typically the reactions to the topical anesthetics on condoms happen pretty quickly, not 3 days afterward. continue to follow up with your provider as needed. I wouldn't wait until you finish this course of antibiotics, they aren't helping so go back to be seen again. get properly tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea. You still have to wait for syphilis, herpes and hiv testing to be done at the proper times to cover all your bases.

Thanks for the response.

Its doubtful to me that the itching is from the antibiotic because it started before I my first dosage and I don't see a fungal infection, just feel irritation.

Thanks for your help though, I hope to find out for sure soon. :-/
