That's too hypothetical. Make sure you obtain the correct testing. It is absolutely pointless in thinking through a possibility that seems to be 1 in a few thousand!
thanks for being generous,I really appreciate.i have one last question then i will not bother you,i'm getting married this year, does having hsv 1 or 2 affect my marriage do i have to take precautionary measures for that assuming i have both types of virus.PLEASE answer this last question for the sake of courtesy.i will be highly obliged
Please carefully review the information in this post, it does have all you need to know.
There are type specific tests available, request them explicitly. If they have a Siemens Immunoassay system, the laboratory can do the right tests.
The doctor is right as I mentioned above. Most likely you have an oral HSV1 infection from when you were a child.
Do not obtain a CSF test for herpes. A negative does not tell you anything as herpes is rarely found in spinal fluid of infected people.
Please see another doctor and insist on type specific testing. I am not sure that you need it though. There is no reason to suspect you were infected genitally at all.
today i saw a dermatologist and after examining the lesion he diagnosed dermatosis,i insisted on the topic that why i was tested positive for hsv? he told me that i might have been infected in my childhood thats why the antibodies are still present. Is this possible?
and all the hsv tests offered here do not distinguish between the two types of it.he said that currently i have no herpetic lesions on my genitals or lips.
i am going to visit a different doctor just for reassurance.
i called the lab again and they told me that the PCR test was not for the blood. They are going to take the CSF fluid which is required in herpes PCR tests and results are available after 2 weeks

does hsv antibodies interfere with hiv 4 th generation tests?
is there any impact whatsoever on an hiv test,i have had 7 hiv tests in last 6 months, are they reliable?do i have to test again for hiv?
*iam located in Lahore Pakistan
*i called the lab and they mentioned that its a combined value for both and they are not telling me whether i have hsv 1 or 2.
*the test they used was siemans immunolite.
*is this an elisa test?
*should i go for pcr?
Where are you located?
The test is combined for HSV1 and HSV2. What this means is that if a positive results, then you are positive for EITHER HSV1 OR HSV2, but certainly not automatically for both.
Only the IgG has diagnostic value. Ask explicitly for type specific testing for HSV1 and HSV2. You want two different results for IgG HSV1 and IgG HSV2.
I would feel the test is quite conclusive that you have HSV and as mentioned very likely this is an oral infection from your youth.
is it a combined igg test result?Does igg tests gives false positives?
there were 2 options for herpes test either igm or igg.
i took the herpes igg test but it never showed me where i am having the infection.and there was a single value indicating that i am positive.I called the lab and they said the value 11.5 was positive for both hsv 1 and 2.
1.should i take pcr test?
2.CSF test is also available for herpes
i have never had any any sort of cold sore anywhere.
You have not had the right test to assist in a diagnosis.
This test has probably identified an oral HSV1 infection. Do you get oral cold sores now and again, or maybe in your youth?
There is no reason at all to suspect individual bite things on your thighs are in any way related to herpes or a sexual encounter six months ago.
Potentially test again but ask for the IgG test to be type specific for HSV1 and HSV2.
i am having no true symptoms like blisters sores swollen nodes or fever
i can recall from a post that Dr hhh said if there are no blisters then its not hsv
TORCH PROFILE REPORT
Herpes IgG (See Below) 11.5
INTERPREATATION OF RESULT OF HERPES 1 & 2 IgG ANTIBODY
Less Than 0.900 ---------------------------------------------- NEGATIVE
0.900 To 1.1 -------------------------------------------------- EQUIVOCAL
Greater Than Or Equal To 1.1 ----------------------------- POSITIVE
only a single value 11.5 was written what do u suggest?
Was this a combined HSV1/2 test?
The lab is correct, they can't tell you whether you have just HSV1, just HSV2 or both. By far the most likely outcome is that you have an oral HSV1 infection from when you were a baby.
Yes you have had an ELISA test. Go to your doctor and request a type specific IgG test for HSV1 and HSV2.
PCR is the wrong test for blood, it will not tell you anything.
