HSV 2 Possible?

Hello,

First thank you to everyone on this board. You all are awesome! I've been reading a lot on this board which is why I must ask questions for my particular situation.

January 31st I had unprotected intercourse with someone that I've known for years. Of course I regret it. I was fine up until about two weeks when I felt like something was going on. I did form blisters on my labia that we're not painful or itchy. They didn't ooze or crust over. They were just there and I treated them with Neosporin. During the time of them I could not go to the doctor's for a swab because of a snow storm. The blisters lasted for a few days, not even a week. That Monday I went to the doctor's office and was completely healed and had a STD screening. My results were negative for every in except for herpes. I already have HSV 1 orally and genitally so I am not sure if this was a genital reoccurence. My results:

Herpeselect IGG through Quest
HSV 1: 3.44
HSV 2: 1.34 H

I was also positive for a yeast infection that seemed to be chronic.

I understand that this could be seroconversion. I was in disbelief and contacted my partner with finding this website. He said that he had been tested for everything 6 months prior and was negative.  I did make sure I specifically asked about herpes. He said he was negative and had only had sex protected sex twice before me. He has no symptoms that I am aware of.

I tested again two weeks after which was one month after possible exposure. The result was:

Captia through Labcorp
IGG HSV 2 Negative <.90

IGM Negative for HSV 1 and 2

I have tried to accept the negative result along with the IGM although those aren't reliable. I have not had any other symptoms or outbreaks. Please help!

2 low positives would be conclusive and no futher testing needed. Yes it could be low after 3 months and is indicative of a recent infection.

I got my results back and something isn't right.

It has been twelve weeks post exposure and I tested 1.1 through Labcorp. Again, a low positive but now I have tested low positive with Herpeselect and Captia. I haven't had another outbreak or anything. Should it be this low after 3 months?

I talked to the guy after getting my results and he said that he had been tested again after we had sex and he's testing negative for everything. Either he's lying or I am getting false positives. I am confused beyond measures.

Thanks for your response and advice.

I am going to be tested again today. This will be the three month mark and I have yet to have any other symptoms and my partner has not yet to express any concerns to me either.

Wish me luck! Pray for me. : )

No particular reason to believe one is better. A lot is understood about Herpeselect however.

So should I use the Herpeselect test or Captia?

I was swabbed a few years back and after a reoccurence and it came back HSV 1.

If you kiss your partner and you partner do oral sex to you , he is moving the virus from your lips to the vagina. You don't feel Symptoms because your body already build antibodies again your condition.

Most probably you do not have HSV2. However you should have an IgG test now to confirm this just in case you seroconvert closely.

You do have some protection if you already have genital HSV, but what makes you think you have HSV1 in both locations?
