herpes or some other infection?

I noticed a few days after shaving my entire pubic region and lower half of my penis  an initial bump which turned into several others. The first scabbed over, the new ones have a pale liquid look to them. They are all In my pubic region not on my penis. They don't hurt or itch. Is this herpes or something else? Note other people use my shower and the razor had feel on the floor of the shower and wasn't new out of the box. It had been sitting9sittingsitting in the shower after a few uses. Please help I'm freaking out.

I got an appointment with the nurse ppractitioner tomorrow. But it's mostly healed. What do you suggest?

Push the do for harder for an appointment. Check whether there is a nurse or other person in the practice could simply take a swab in advance of seeing the doctor.

Yes the Sex was unprotected. I can't go to the er, my insurance is basically all out of pocket for er visits. I just really can't afford that. If the lesions are gone prior to me getting an appointment what do you suggest I do? Thank you for all your help. IT means a lot

If there are no lesions, then you can't swab. You could drop into the emergency department of a hospital for a swab.

Herpes is not a standard part of STD testing.

All up, this is much more likely to be something other than herpes. You have no idea whether this partner has the virus, may even have proof that she is negative. If you had unprotected sex then yes, you'd expect the lesions to be on the penis itself. Transmission rates are low even if she has the virus. You've shaved and irritated the area.

Why is it best when they are present?

I know we can't diagnose here but does it sound like it's more likely herpes than anything else? No I didn't see that on the paper. There was a lot of tests on there all negative. My Dr. Has no appts until  Friday. I'm losing my mind

We can't diagnose anything here or be too sure at all. I am just suggesting you will kick yourself if you don't attempt to eliminate herpes whilst the lesions are present. Trust me on this.

Of course yes bacterial, fungal and other low level viruses could all be causes.

When you say you saw results, did this include a negative for IgG HSV2 antibodies?

Also I thought herpes were extremely rare if not ever in the ppubic region. More common on the head and shaft

You think it seems like herpes? I had Sex with a girl I know very well and saw recent paper proof of her std tests, she hadn't had SexSex in a long time and has never had symptoms. I've talked to her about this today. Yes this is my first occurrence. I never shaved the way I did this time before and the razor had been sitting under the sink amongst cleaning supplies for over a month unpackaged. I also have been running a lot sweating and don't always shower after the gym before going to bed. Couldn't it be folliculitus? Or anything else. Is it definitely herpes?

Based on that, I would be seeking a swab straight away of these symptoms. Do not delay. Ask for the swab to be checked for HSV using PCR instead of a culture. It could also readily be bacterial or fungal.

If this is the first outbreak of this nature you have experienced the for it to be herpes there must be a source. What is your sexual history in the last 2 weeks??

They are all on my pubic region before the base of my shaft.  It's a cluster. With only one being scabbed over. They aren't uniform in shape.

When you say an initial bump turned into others... Where was the first bump exactly? Where were the subsequent bumps exactly? Describe them more, are they on a red base? Is each one a nicely defined circle for example?
