herpes

I had a vasectomy 9 days ago and had unprotected oral sex (and protected vaginal sex) from an escort.  Do I have a very high chance of getting herpes (or HIV) especially since her saliva may have made contact with the vasectomy wound?  I did not notice any sores in her mouth or vagina.  Thanks.

I'm not a doctor.

Showering would have no effect on transmission.

The only reliable herpes test that can be done this early is to have a swab of a lesion or blister, which you don't have.

At 3 months post exposure you can do a type specific IgG blood test.

No symptoms.  I also took a shower within 10 mins after the event.  It has been 3 days since the encounter.  And yes, I totally understand the idiocy and irresponsibility of my actions.

When should I get a herpes test (and other STDs)?

Thanks for your response!

Getting right back on the saddle, hey!

Chances of getting herpes from a one time encounter are very low.  The open wound might increase the risk.

Do you have any symptoms?
