Outbreaks frequently.

Hi, and thank you for reading my question. I have had hsv2 now for about five years. I am a male 30 years of age. Me and girlfriend both have it. Over the last five years my outbreaks have been on par for what you will read (3-5) a year and most time mild when they do occur. From the start of January first until not I have have four outbreaks. Again very mild with one being a little more aggressive. ( still mild compared to my early ones) I don't know why this has changed suddenly. A few factors I can think of are the following.

1 terrible stress and sleep patterns. I have many man thighs that stress me out from day to day, but don't we all? My anxiety has been about 4 fold in the last 4-5 months. Sleep has been hard to come by.

2. Diet. I have gained about 15 pounds due to not working out and eating things I normally avoid. And this leads me to number 3

3. Alcohol consumption. This I have noticed has increased with my level of stress and is a big reason for my current weight gain.

Other notes are I do not take meds regularly since I really don't have much of a problem most times. I also have been stressed out thinking I could have HIV since it seems to happening so often, but i took a oraquick at 5 months past any recent exposure and it was negative. I also have very bad eczema and this winter has been absolute hell on my skin.

Thanks for any help.

Thank you for the response. I will be taking some meds soon to see how that works out. Just strange to have these OB's happen suddenly and pretty soon after each other. As I read on the Internet, it seems it does happen to people from time to time. I have to really think that the winter dry cold and my eczema are at the root of this along with other factors of overall Heath and well being.

I placed a call into my dermatologist and am waiting for a call back. He knows my history with eczema and all that so I'm sure we can get to the bottom of this. Like I said my main concern was HIV but I seem to rules that out with a test.

Thank you again for the help.

eczema and herpes don't always mix so well :(

at this point I"d see a dermatologist to make sure that you don't have other issues also going on. I'd also start daily suppressive therapy and stick to it for a few months to see if that helps you figure out what is herpes related and what isn't about what is going on.
