Hi me and a friend are taking our friendship to another level but she has herpes a mild case she doesn't get brake outs and if she does its only once every 1-2years she takes her meds she always gets get check UPS she keeps herself clean the doctor she sees says shes ok the meds she takes is acyclovir.well we talked about having sex but not to sure and I wanted to know since herpes is transferred through skin to skin contact if I were to keep my boxers or briefs on during intercourse should that minimize the chance of me getting it?

She takes her meds everyday we have not had sex i get tested every so often I just got tested a week ago and im good no HIV or std we are just starting out our relationship
does your friend have hsv1 or hsv2 genitally? does she take acyclovir every day to prevent recurrences or only take it when she has a recurrence?
have you been tested for herpes to know your own status? it's not a part of routine std testing.
have you both had full std testing to cover the other std's? have you both had your gardasil shots?
