best thing is to return again if it's not better.
Well, it's almost end of December and this all started in Sept. I saw a different doc at end of Nov and he gave me fucidin, nystatin cr and Betad...(rest isn't on jar). Improved situation, but still (for last 3 weeks) have a little prick like feeling and red area on my scrotum. Is there something stronger than what I have that can finish this off for good?
Yeah, I ran out of stuff and stopped for a couple days. Then I got sick and the fever I think caused my body to heat up and sweat causing more of an issue with the itch. I'll keep patient ....for now.
Have you been seen by a dermatologist at this point? Yeast can be a bugger to get rid of, I can vouch for that. There are different meds - the one you used just may not be effective, or if it wasn't fully gone and you stopped using the lamisil, it can easily start to come back. I'd advise the dermatologist route, as grace stated.
Well to update, my scrotum is a much lighter red, but I'm itchy again and I see red spots on scrotum which are itchy. Am I seeing these spots now cause the general redness has gone down? Does this mean something is working?
fungal infections can be very difficult to get rid of.
How long does Lamisil usually take to work? I've been on it for a week, no itch for 5 days now but I have one red area that is uncomfortable and won't go away. It also has alot of white pimple like bumps within the red area.
consult with a dermatologist if this doesn't work for you.
Thanks for the reply. After 5 weeks of itching, I really start to wonder. That and when my doctor gave me a perscription for the lamisil, he didn't seem overly convinced that is what I have so it has left doubts in my mind. I shall stay the course and hopefully this will cure it.
this sounds more like jock itch than anything which is what you are treating it for. continue to follow up with your provider as needed.
