unidentifyable rash

I had sex with my girlfriend a few days ago, and woke up this morning with a very severe rash beginning at the top of my pubic region and going all the way up to my left hip. its only painful when i apply pressure to it, and its a rather blotchy rash. one or two of the 'blotch's' have what look likes a pimple right in the middle of them but the rest dont. it is pretty itchy but not overly itchy.

in terms of the sex it was pretty normal but it was hot and therefore we were sweaty. could that be the reason the rash is there?

one more thing, weve been having frequent sex and i had a couple of similar spots but only one or two little spots right above my pubic region until the sex a couple of days ago where the rash seemed to escalate about ten fold.

Ive researched this quite a lot and cant find anything that is accurate or fits the description well.

can you maybe give me a rough diagnosis so that i can focus on something?

It could be herpes, it could be a contact dermatitis, it could be fungal, it could be shingles even but you'll need to be seen to even begin to figure it all out.

Genital herpes can be anywhere in the "boxer short" area. So no, it doesn't rule out herpes.

no neither of us have had the blood testing done..
the thing is the rash isnt really that close to my genitles, it starts at the top of my pubic hairs and continues up to my hip. does that rule out herpes?

You need to go and be seen today and have this checked out.  That's the best way to get answers.

have either you or your gf ever had herpes blood testing done?
