Recently for the past few weeks, I have been unable to sleep with my ears against the pillow (basically head looking at either sides (not the ceiling)) because of a strange pulsation that randomly occurs after staying in that position for so long. After a few seconds or so a pulse gradually becomes stronger around my ear at the superficial temporal artery and later on I would be able to feel the pulsation around my neck as well. I've noticed that this pulsating happens on each side of my head depending on which side of my head I sleep on (right/left) though it is weaker in my left side. Is this a sign of high blood pressure, is it a problem with my neck? or spine possibly? Could pressure (resting head against pillow looking at the side) affect the pulsating at all? I'm very confused. Please someone help..
