This laboratory is about Food Hygiene. And there are many microorganism(bacteria, virus etc about food) in the laboratory.
I had a wound on hand, because my hand is so dry.. (chapped).
Today, during experiment my sweater contacted with the piece of cloth (Not directly contact with hand's wound). There is a some words : "Please do not touch in this area. Cloth is highly contaminated by bacteria." I was freaked out after look this words. Furthermore I don't wear any latex gloves.
Fortunately, I had bandaged on my hand's wound before contact with cloth.
After this accident, I put off my sweater and washed my hand. But I know microorganisms can live long time in environmental surfaces.
Is there any infectious microorganims still on my sweater? As I came home, I remove the bandage on my hand, and worried about infection by fatal food microorganims like Clostridium botulinum, Lysteria monocytogenes...
What can I do? Just wait? or go to the hospital?
How are you? What symptoms are present after the contact with the cloth? There are many factors to be considered such as the type of microorganism, concentration, your immune system, your wound and medical history. At this point, it would help to know the specific microorganisms present and to talk with your teacher or laboratory personnel and observe. Take care and do keep us posted.
