The mysterious symptoms of belching persist within my family.

I initially experienced symptoms of belching and diarrhea. Following a gastroscopy, which showed no issues and no presence of Helicobacter pylori, I dismissed the problem. However, when my girlfriend developed belching symptoms after we started dating, she experienced constipation instead of diarrhea. Her gastroscopy also revealed no issues. This led me to suspect the existence of an infectious disease within my body. After my son's birth, I maintained separate dining, but occasional oversights occurred. In September of this year, he started frequently belching, complaining of air being trapped in his throat. I took him to a family hospital, where a stool test yielded normal results, and no Helicobacter pylori was detected. The doctor advised continued observation, but the belching symptoms persist. I discussed this with a friend studying medicine in Göttingen, who also believes it might be an infectious disease. He suggested a parasitic examination for the entire family, including organisms like Giardia lamblia. I hope to receive assistance. Thank you.

Get another parasite stool test. Sometimes you need 3 tests to detect parasites. Also, you could get a bacterial pathogens. Campylobacter jejuni, E. Coli 0157, Salmonella and Shigella are possible. Also cryptosporidium. You can see a infectious disease doctor.
It could be a food sensitivity like to milk etc.

Also,  if the other tests above are negative you can get a urea breath test for Helicobacter pylori.

Thanks for your reply. But Bacterial pathogens are unlikely to affect for such a long time.
And I have already done a test for HP and it’s negative.
It's not a lingering biofilm

I hope not, but my son feels so uncomfortable because of the belching. I am sad and helpless.
E. Coli can be chronic.  Have you been tested for E. Coli 0157?
How often are you belching and having diarrhea? Have you been tested for food allergies/sensitivities? How long has this been going on?

Constipation can cause belching. Gas can't escape your digestive system. This might mean you and your gf don't have the same thing going on.

How's your diet?

How old is your son? Is he still being breast- or bottle fed? Being bottle fed, especially, can cause them to swallow a lot of gas. Has he seen his doctor?
