ants in food

Hi everyone,

I am not really sure where to post this, so I am going to put it here.

This may sound really dumb, but I accidentally ate some ants today. I was eating a snack cake  and I didn't notice the wrapper had ants on it. They were tiny ants, I guess they are sugar ants.

I was wondering if this is dangerous. Do ants carry any sort of bacteria or diseases? I have really bad anxiety and it is making me very nervous.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Those ants sound exactly like the ones I ate.

I am feeling much better about the whole thing now, thanks for the reassurance.

Hi

I too recently ate some ants by accident. These ants had invaded my cookies without my knowledge. The ants i ate were very tiny (about 1/6) of an average sized ant, orange in color. Anyways, you shouldn't be too concerned cause our stomach is very acidic and will make short work of any ant invaders. We'll be fine.
