Yes 3 months should tell you whether or not you have the antibodies by then. It would be conclusive. But if you just do IgG it won't tell you if it is a recent exposure.

It's going on 3 months, so would that be conclusive?

Just know that type 1 IgG will almost certainly be positive. type 2 should be negative. If you do the IgM it should be negative. That would tell if it is recent infection. The IgM stays positive for about 30-60 days and IgG then becomes positive. It takes a couple of months for the IgG to become positive for Herpes.

Doctor assistance called said blood work good I'm clear of any stds. I ask for a herpes blood test she said she don't know if my doctor would give me one Cause blood work looks good but she will send her a message. I really want a herpes  blood test so I can move past this chapter.

Well, 95% of adults are positive for Herpes type 1 so you will probably find that positive. Type 2 would be the more unlikely one. So a blood test for Herpes type one IgG won't be that specific. Most people have herpes even if they don't show the cold sores.

No pain, itch, or sores dermatologist said it would be 2 to 3 months til color comes back. my doctor said don't worry bout herpes cause the culture was negative. When my doctor call to give me my results for My std im goin to ask her for a herpes igg test just to be on the safe side.

Well if the culture said it was MRSA then it should be right. But if it is gone now you don't have to worry about it. MRSA is methicillin resistant Staph aureus. So you have Bactrim which it should be effective towards MRSA.

So if you are feeling better and it is gone except for the discoloration then you are okay. I think that will pass. You should ask either a doctor or dermatologist if that will return to normal color.  It doesn't hurt or itch any more right? No more sores or anything except the color difference?

I read about pemphigus and it sounds like the sores ooze. Did yours ooze? It is also usually rare and found in middle ages or older people. But It says it can happen at any age and the description of cracked skin sounds like it and the biopsy matched.  Although it does say you can get a Staph infection along with herpes sometimes with it.

So, starting over do you have any photos of the lesions or pimples, anything like that. I don't want to see the whole thing just what the sores would look like?  Did they look like the photos of pemphigus? Herpes looks like tiny blisters. MRSA (Staph) or just non resistant Staph looks like blisters or boils or crusty scab looking areas. They can have pus or not. Fungus have a fuzzy feeling like wool. They itch a lot. Bacteria hurt. Rashes from other things itch also. Pemphigus doesn't itch.

Since you broke out in hives from the penicillin derivative (probably amoxicillin clavulanic acid) it is a side effect of the drug. Usually a rash alone is not necessarily a allergy but hives and trouble breathing are usually an allergy. So use caution when using any penicillin type of drug. You may want to get allergy tested for this.

So they never did a  bacterial culture on these sores?  Then you probably won't know for sure what it was. But the Bactrim, anti-fungal and anti-herpes drugs worked on it because they didn't know what you had and gave you everything in the book instead of doing a culture. This is dumb.  You can rule out herpes since the culture was negative. You could have had both the fungus and a bacterial infection since it hurt and itched. There is no way to know for sure what you had. It could have been pemphigus by the description and biopsy with a staph and or fungal infection.  So try not to scratch when you get something like this.

Usually, though these things are small when they start and the next day they balloon up into a monster the next day or two.

Sorry you went through this. It sounds like you are healing well now. Just wash everything that came in contact with the infectious material to make sure you don't get it again. Clean the handles of the door knobs, water handles etc. and i hope you will be fine after that.

hope this helps.

Im a 25 year old male. I was dealing with a female and on our third time we had unprotected sex. I was drinking that night and it was rough. I kinda knew I was hurting my penis but I was still trying to hit it hard,I have been drinking. I wash myself off at her house and went home. So the next day I got up I felt a funny feeling in my penis. It was like and itching feeling under my shaft. So I kind of scratch at it and took a shower. The third day I was in a lot of pain had a bunch of little bump like open sores under my shaft it was looking like my skin was cracking. Them on my scrotum I broke out with skin cracks or ulcer of sum type. Penis and groin would swell up and go down. Had pain in my buttocks like it swelled up and was sore. I could barely walk. I showed my mother and she said that it was benign pemphigus(hailey-hailey disease). She said she had similar symptoms  and went to a dermatologist and had a biopsy done and came back as that. My brother said the same thing happen to him I showed him and all. About 6 days went by I went to the e.r had a culture done receive a call a few days later and said I had mrsa infection. Got prescribed presidone, Bactrim, antifungal medicine. Didn't really seem to help at the time. Went back to the e.r about two days later they prescribe me some type of penicillin that start with a c. Broke me out in hives. Went to a a different hospital the doctor did a wound culture and a viral culture. My doctor called me four days later and said I was negative for herpes. About three weeks later I'm feeling a little better I went to my dermatologist and he said it could be either shingles, herpes, pemphigus, or just a thing. He prescribed me acyclovir, Bactrim ds2, and fluconazole, told me puts Vaseline and a gauze on it so it can stay dry. Told he he was gone do a biopsy in a week. Took 3 pills a day of acyclovir for a week. All the open sores went away. Went back to the dermatologist he said I was looking better it would be about 2 months before I get my skin pigment back. I didn't mention anything about the biopsy because I was scared of getting bad results. About a month and a half has gone by I feel fine. My skin colors hasn't came all the way back but I'm doing good. Can u please help me out with this? Let me know what u think. it has been eating me up for 2 months now

Hi, well Staph can look different. It can be a boil often times in that area or you can have a crusty wound or sore like patch. What does yours look like? It usually doesn't itch it would hurt usually if it is a boil or if crusty may not feel either way.
