There's a host of issues that can cause an enlarged spleen - infections (like mono), different cancers, autoimmune diseases, blood disorders but they have run a battery of tests on me and every test has came back negative or good numbers.
My blood doctor ran another cat scan 2 months after the first and said no change in size and to come back and see him in June
I told him my GI doctor diagnosed me with IBS but he didn't comment on it.
Truth be told I think I actually have Functional Abdominal Pain Syndrome (FAPS) because I have had normal bowel movements this entire time
I'm beginning to question both my doctors. I got a slightly enlarged spleen and my Oncologist has no answers and my GI doctor was trying to get me to go back to my primary doctor (who sent me to him in the first place) but I was able to get an appointment with him on Friday to try and get answers for my pain.
Was just hoping someone may have heard of IBS/FAPS tying into a spleens.
Ask your doctor. He/she should answer your questions, concerns. Did they say what causes an enlarged spleen, and whether there is need for concern?
