What is wrong with me?

Hello, I am a 22 year old female who is for the most part healthy. I don't smoke or drink and i am only about 10 lbs overweight.   I have been suffering with bouts of abdominal pain and nausea off and on for the last year.  It seems to come and go, I will be fine and then one month for about a week I will have a cramping like pain that comes and goes sometimes the pain comes on more severe and the whole time i just feel tired and nauseated.    I would go to a doctor about the pain and they would tell me that it was heart burn and perscribe me acid reducers, the pain would go away and then a few months later it would be back.

Sometimes the pain is on the left side and sometimes on the right. It seems to migrate arround but it always feels like a crampy kind of pain.

This month though the pain is lasting longer then usual( and it is more intense ), I have no appitie and haven't realy been eating anything.  it started out on the lower right side.  I went to the doc and they tested for appendicitis, that came back normal.  So he suggested that based on my history that i might have IBS.  However my bowel habits are pretty normal, and i didn't have constipation  or anything.  so i went home the next day i thought i was feeling better.  I went to work, but as soon as I started working I got a realy bad pain on the left side, near my pancreas, so i got sent home from work and i went to the er.

There they did blood work and urine tests, and told me that I had pancreatitis ( based that my amaylase was a tiny bit raised).  (  I had acute pancreatitis when i was 15)   This time they sent me home and told me only clear liquids only and to follow up with my doctor.

The next day I went to my doc and she wanted to admit me to the hospital for treatment, i ended up going to the er again, this time a different one.  There they did more tests including a ct scan. and everything was normal. they said i didn't have pancreatitis and sent me home with a perscription for nausea and pain.  The doctor that was seeing me told me that he thought it could either be endometriosis or IBS.   He wants me to do a follow up with my doc and have a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy.

I have delt with this pain on and off for about a year now and would like to know what is going on, does anyone have any idea what this could be.

Hello sherber88
My immediate advise would be the following,
-- stop all soft drinks and fruit juces ,, ONLY consume water and at tap temperature.
-- stop all sugar containing food including cakes and biscuits etc . etc.
-- stop all fried food.
-- stop white bread especially sliced bread. wholemeal only and preferably whole wheat    bread u can bake at home WITHOUT yeast...i find it delicious natural tasting.
-- do not eat the following vegetables,,, Tomatoes ,, Potatoes and Eggplant.
-- do not eat the following fruit,,,  Bananas ,,, Kiwi ,,, Pineapple , and Mangoes .
-- do NOT consume more than 250 ml ( 8 fluid ounces ) of water per 24 hrs ,, and if u find u   are needing to drink more water ,,u are intaking too much SALT or SUGAR,, cut down and the need for water will go away.
NOW ,, ALL of the above advise was based on Macrobiotics,, which i am a student of ,, i KNOW for a fact from personal experience IF it does NOT cure ur problem ,, it will atleast help ,,, after all u have nothing to loose anything except ur problem.
Wishing u the best of health .
If ur problem becomes more serious , which i do NOT think it will IF u follow what i said ,, i can give u a really nice diet .
Pls feel free to send me a message through this website

This is a suggestion to help eliminate another possibility  - gluten intolerance.  Look up the gluten free diet on the computer and maybe give it a try.  Stick to the diet for at least a month and see how you feel and if any symptoms subside.  You have to make sure the vitamins and medications you take are also gluten free.  Hope this helps.
