I guess no one has a comment?
My daughter wears adult Pampers or something similar for special occasions - she had a ileostomy and reconnect - do you keep a food diary - I eat little meals all day - so that my guts do not have to handle a lot - possibly fear of an attack could provoke??
Nerves can be cruel - I know the last few months I have been off work - stomach and everything working just right - - I try not to eat any later than 6:00 at night - - I am not a breakfast eater -but make sure I eat either a breakfast bar (soft) Activa sometimes or sometimes a breakfast drink (don't want vitamins on empty stomach)
I know that fats have always bothered me - any type of cream would bring on a gall bladder attack - finally had it removed - but I still have low tolerance of fatty food - and do not eat anything fried. My stomach loves hotcakes - oatmeal -
I can totally appreciate your situation! My stomach seems to be worse after dinner, more than at any other time. I avoid eating if I have to go out at night! I tried keeping a food diary, but there was no continuity! I've no advice or help, but just so you know you are not alone!
Hi there. For years my ibs-d was only in the morning, then for some reason it too switched to nights. I have never figured out why. Have you been diagnosed with IBS? Do you take any meds for it?
Whenever I need to go out, I always take a couple of immodium for prevention. I also have a prescription for lomotil which is also for D. If anyone had told me I would be wearing a diaper at my age, id have thought they were crazy! LOL, but you get used to it. When you take any anti D products it is trial and error as you dont want to get constipated, so try a low dose first. I also have a bag with me wherever I go with a change of clothes, and always take meds and a bottle of water with me. Im afraid some embarrasing moments are a part of this disease, but we cant let it win!! Hope you are having a good day.
No diaper yet for me. So far but the one accident that determined I had giardasis put me on the antibiotics that killed my intestinal tract. I think from then on I started with ibs-d. Yes, I do take a immodium when I will venture from a place where I dont know where the restroom is. I dont go out much at all unless Im in control....driving my own car. Public transporation I will never do. Im only scared to be stuck in a traffic situation in case the D kicks in for no reason. I dont have crones or celiac, its just ibs according to my dr and the colonoscopy. Thanks. You all have a good day too.
