I started Prilosec for duodenal ulcer (diagnosed during Endoscopy) 5 weeks ago. During this time I also had labwork for annual physical done which included urine microalbumin test. The ratio came out higher than normal at 32 after the first week of Prilosec. I repeated that test 3 weeks later and the ratio came out even higher at 74. Now I am worried and trying to understand if the Prilosec caused it. The blood pressure is also higher especially the systolic at 140 to 150. Is Prilosec known to have an effect directly on urine albumin or indirectly through blood pressure? I have read warnings about kidney disease being associated with the long term use of PPIs. I have to take Prilosec for another 3 weeks. Any insights or guidance will be appreciated.
