His levels presents a cholestatic profile. Somehow his biliary system is not quite right, small gallstone, GI infection, mild hepatitis, etc ?? His doctor will likely want to do some imaging to take a look. His numbers are only slightly elevated, as you noted, so there isn't anything severe to worry about. Hope his doctor diagnoses it for you both soon.
While it is great that he doesn't drink or smoke. What kind of food does he eat? Does he drink water. Everything we eat or drink has to be processed by our liver. Because I have a damaged liver I limit fried food or processed food.
I rarely eat red meat because it is hard on the body, takes a while to digest. I have a friend who has fatty liver disease which has cause a lot of damage to her liver. She has been cautioned not to drink and to eat a specialized meal.
What did the doctor say? Has your husband had an ultrasound done yet?
Please let us know how he is doing.
