Elevated bilirubin relates (generally) to blockage in the biliary ducts/gallbladder. Has your Dr. ordered an MRI ??? Ultrasounf *usually* detects blockage and constriction - but not always...
Sounds like a viral form of hepatitis has been ruled out, but there are other forms - I would at least read about hemachromatosis and see. The ferritin level test *may* give clues. Serum Iron with TIBC (Total Bind Capacity) helps them to make such a diagnosis.

i have high bilirubin 1.6 limits are 0.3 to 1.3, high ferritin or iron 181.8 ng/ml and limits were 6.0 to 115.0, high alt 45 limits were 0-31, high ast 37 limits were 0-31.. ultra sound showed no blockage in liver or gallbladder, colonoscopy and endoscopy found polyp in colon and polyps in stomach... i hav eupper right quadrant pain.. lost 20 pounds. non hepatitis c and b both test non reactive. can anyone please help me?
