Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer my question.
A little brief history about me, I am 29 years old,non smokers, I did not grow up around smokers either, I have smoked maybe 2-3 cigarettes my whole life.
about 3 years ago I woke up one morning with 2 swollen lymph nodes in my collar bone and my neck. I had one needle core biopsy and it came back normal. So i forgot about them.
Fast forward a year later I developed some strange symptoms like loss of appetite and fatigue which lasted about 2 months, and went away. Then 6 months after that I developed a bad productive chest cough and gave me shortness of breath. It seems like bronchitis or pneumonia which I was giving antibiotics for, but did nothing.
Now fast forward again to now and I still have this cough with clear mucus, and its given my chest pains. I went to the doctor and had a full cardio work up to rule out the heart. doctor said my heart is normal.
Now I went to a pulmonary doctor who has run 2x chest x rays (both said were normal). multiple cbc ( all normal), and a breathing test (normal).
I was prescribed a inhaler, which gives me zero relief for the shortness of breath. I have noticed only when lying down if I forcefully cough I can produce a very loud chesty cough sound that sounds like mucus in there, but not much comes up, and it burns my left lungs very bad to do so. and the burning and shortness of breath stays, sometimes I even have sharp chest pains.
Does this sound like it could be lung cancer??? Would x ray still be negative after 2 years with this cough? I am scared out of my mind that I have lung cancer and this whole time I am going undiagnosed. What can I get my pulmonary doctor to for for me now? should I get an endoscope of the lungs?
