My doc absolutely swears that people do get cured by herbs, he says they kill bacteria but more slowly, so you are looking at three times the wait if you go all herbs.
I'd do more research into it if I were you.
I was reminded by a concerned friend that going off the abx means no die off and thus feeling better as she and others were trying to say don't go the all herb route. You will feel better but bot be cured.
I agree with what you said, being on 4 abx is so tough but I want to make sure I am killing off things. Dr Schaller said during our phone consult that the red blood cells should literally explode if you are killing the babs so I should look for a lower red blood cell count on my visit Weds with my LLMD. If not, and I really can't increase but dosage eventually, I will need to reconsider.
I am glad you are doing well with your shot.
I was taking 5 meds for Lyme and Bart and I felt much better when I took a break for my kidneys. It made me realize how much of my tired, crummy feeling was due to the meds. (And how Tindamax left such a horrible taste in my mouth.) But I am clearly still infected. My rib pain increased and I started having speech and word finding issues again, which is a bummer as those last two are neurological symptoms.
I am back on the Bicillin shots only, and so far so good, although I have more of a need for a nap in the afternoons. I just don't think I can take that much at once.
If I could have chosen, I would have stayed on one of the antibiotics, but it was helpful to see how my symptoms were without meds. I was better than I thought I was.
Maybe you could treat one or both of your coinfections for a while and come back around to the Lyme treatment after both are much better.
Thank you YGTBK, It's good to know that if I have to switch, it won't be a bad thing. Already know a protocol for it.
Good luck mojogal, I hope it gets better from now on.
I switched from abx to all herbs (very nervously) about, ooh, was it February? few months ago and I feel sooo much better.
I was finally persuaded to do this as my WBC count was so low (I was another lucky one as this is also apparently a very rare side effect!)
I was also struggling with the awful depression adn tiredness and constant nausea, disgusting taste in my mouth and various other side effects.
On herbs I had a sort of gentle, slow motion herx that lasted nearly 2 months, now that has finished and it is plain sailling, I feel better than I did at any time on abx. They had stopped wqorking and so the herbs helped me make more progress. So if it comes to it, don't be scared of stopping abx.
All I would say is, if you do move to herbs, don't just take a couple of randomly selected things, follow one of the tried and tested
protocols.
I didn't realize till just now that Malarone = atovaquone, which I was on. Everybody reacts differently, eh.
You hang in there -- glad you talked with the doc.
It's a reaction to the meds themselves , extreme depression, and mouth sores, but I have talked to Dr Schaller and I am going to hang in there, I doubled up on my anti depression meds and feel like a new woman and will wait for my blood tests results next week to see if I can stay on the lower dose of malarone if I had to.
These side effects are rare but listed, I am one of the lucky ones :(
Is it die off reaction (meaning the meds are working, perhaps too harshly), or a reaction to the antibiotics themselves? It's sometimes hard to tell.
