Paresthesias are very disturbing. At my worst they were literally all over my whole body from my scalp to my toes. The things I have felt are numbness, tingling, burning, hot, cold, water dripping, water splashing, feelings of being stuck with pins and probably more that I forgot. I have far less of them now since I have had antibiotic treatment but I still have them.
I also had weakness along with the paresthesias. My leg was dragging. I went from neuro to neuro as I was certain I had MS. I had every possible test for MS including a spinal tap. Everything was normal again and again.
It's too long of a story but I did have 3 bullseye rashes at the same time many years back, followed by a severe, neurologic illness. I finally got treatment 15 months after the rash and I started getting better. It took years to recover (only took treatment for 4 months as I had to travel out of state and pay out of pocket). I may have recovered sooner if I had continued treatment longer. I was pretty good for a few years then it all hit again after having surgery. Again I recovered a great deal with antibiotic treatment.
yes, I do and have been bitten by deer ticks. i never had the bullseye that is commonly found with lymes, but i'm hopeful that this is something that can be taken care of with antibiotics. how are your symptoms today? what course of action did you take? you actually had the parathesia also? It's so strange to feel something as wet when it is not. That is scary.
Welcome to MedHelp. The symptoms you describe are very common in lyme. I have all of them you listed. I think people should have a good medical work-up to rule in or out any other disorders though. Myself I saw several neuro's before seeing a doctor for lyme? I thought I had MS but everything came back normal.
Do you live in a lyme endemic area?
