Other tests...

Had my appt today and he is keeping me on Cefuroxine since I seem to be tolerating it well.  Two more months of it and then we'll go from there.  He also had blood work drawn for Babesia, the CD57, and the LTT ELISPOT that I've mentioned before.  He said I will have results in a couple weeks.

He seems like a good dr. but whenever I ask him a question about my symptoms he really doesn't define or explain it to me.  He always just says..."it's all part of it"....   Sometimes I wish it could all be a bit more explained to me a bit.

Ceftin worked well me. It seem to kill off and I had no digestive or liver issues with it. I get the same thing when asking about symptoms. I usually hear "your all different". I am always inquiring if someone else has experienced the same symptom in the same way. If so, what was their road to recovery.  Honestly they don't have all the answers. They don't know why symptoms come and go or why they are so persistent. I think they learn something new for every patient they see. Jackie California had good advice on improving your communication with your doctor. Sometimes I ask the question and then give a speculative answer to which it then provokes a detailed explanation from the doctor.

That sounds like good news all around -- except for the dr not engaging in conversation about the symptoms.  In a perfect world, he would discuss your concerns with you, but it may be that he doesn't see it to be productive.

However imho the psychology of Lyme is as burdensome as the physical sometimes.  When you see him next, think about telling him "It would help me very much to understand about some of the symptoms I experience.  I really need to hear from you what it is that is making my [head] feel as though [describe].  If I understand what I am experiencing, then I can handle it better."

Touchy-feeliness is regrettably not a requirement for admission to med school.  You just have to be persistent.  And altho I can say all this, I have exactly the same problems with my MDs.  You're not alone!
