In my particular case, simply taking fiber cereal daily with plenty of water and a flax seed oil gel tab., alternating with a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil every other day has tremendously reduced my hot flashes and night sweats.  This regimen has also helped stabalize my mood and energy levels, so much so, that I feel well enough that I even "want" to go walking and exercise now.

Have a blessed day.

Hi Jannielou, I was suffering horribly from hot flashes and night sweats until the doc put me on HRT last year. It did help with the flashes, but I started feeling ‘weird’, my breasts got so sore that I could hardly sleep, then I started getting pain in my legs, especially my knees and hips, and I started gaining weight. I went to askapatient.com, and saw that many other women on Premarin were experiencing the same symptoms. Then I read an article that said that HRT can double your risk for breast cancer, so I quit cold turkey.

Within a week of quitting, the hot flashes got so bad that I was tempted to take the hormones again. I started looking for alternatives, but there are so many, black cohosh, soy, Chinese herbs, etc, and most of them tell you not to expect results for weeks, or even months. Sorry, but I’m not that patient. Someone on the WebMD forum suggested I try Wisdom Menopause Formula, so I ordered a bottle from Amazon.com. I’ve been taking it for two weeks now, and I’m thrilled! The night sweats stopped almost immediately, and the hot flashes became fewer and less severe. Sometimes I feel a little flushed, like one is coming on, but then it just seems to fizzle.  The pain in my legs and breasts has also subsided, and I’m feeling great. The best part is that I’m actually able to get a good night’s sleep again!
