A pregnancy may get to full term, but do keep a record of what is happening and how you feel.

The thing with home pregnancy kits is that you do have to read and follow the instructions carefully.   Time will only tell if you are pregnant.

The symptoms that you are experiencing at the moment as you say that your period is due within the next 10 days, may be premenstrual tension (PMT) sometimes called premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and having those types of symptoms are very common around the 10 days before your next period.

Has your doctor also ordered a blood test to check your iron levels as well as they thyroid?  Being anaemic can also make you feel dizzy, especially if your iron is very low, it will also make you feel very tired.

Did the doctor examine your blood pressure, your ears and throat for any infections? - these things can also make you feel dizzy.

Did you mention your feelings of nausea and dizziness to the doctor?  What did he suggest it may be?

As there may be a number of things that it could be, at this moment in time it is a question of waiting to see what the blood tests come up with.

Take things easy and just eat light meals.  Drink plenty of fluids and water - as you feel nausea, just take small sips, but often.  Get in as much rest as you can.  Arrowroot biscuits can help if you feel nausea, ginger, camomile, mint herbal teas may help too.

Let me know how you get on.
Best wishes.

hi Jemma, have recently gopne fpr blood tests and the dr is testing for thyroid problems and menapause seems so sudden as ive always had regular 28 day periods and suddenly a late one but no bleed just brown spotting and the two weeks prior to this the pain and dizzyness and feeling sick i have never experienced before i am worried as obviously would love another baby but my last baby who is now 2 1/2 was ten weeks prem and i do recall brown spotting with him but not sure if it was around the time my period due . i did a pregnancy test yesterday which came out negative its still 10 days before my next period is due just getting a lot of mixed vibes as dr talking over menapause etc also cannot understand that my stomach has been bloated ever since this brown bleed if this is menapause not looking forward to looking constantly bloated. also waking up every morning with such tender breasts eventually eases off throughout day just feeling a bit confused and worried.seeiong dr again wed as he did ask bloods to do preg test to but when i got there they said he never requested it so got to wait now do you think i could be testing to early before next period. just more confused after that pain in pelvis just before that brown bleed .

No, those are not the symptoms of pre menopause.

If you have had unprotected sex, you may be pregnant.  The spotting on the 21st may have been a threatened miscarriage.  Sometimes a spotting can happen, but then stop.  A pregnancy may get to full term, but do keep a record of what is happening and how you feel.  If you should start a show and then a bleed when your next period is due, it may be a start of a miscarriage.

It may be a good idea to get a pregnancy test done.

Let me know how you get on.
