Sharp pain left of navel

This sharp pain left of my navel only occurs when I am sitting up from the lying down position.  If I am careful and roll onto my side before sitting up it does not occur.  If this is a hernia should I deal with it? Ty

If it's a hernia, yeah, you need to deal with it, but of course you can't know if it is or isn't without seeing a doctor.  Doesn't sound like one, sounds more like you tweaked a muscle in your abdomen, but again, you'll only know by seeing a doctor.

My doctor palpated the area and felt nothing.  He ordered a CT scan of my entire abdomen so maybe something will show up there.  But about that "sharp pain," it is extremely severe.  I've had it for many years now.  Thankfully it's not too often since I avoid movements that activate it.  It will be nice to know what it is.  I will update.
