Hi, i am 28 yr old male. a bit over a year ago i siffered from a UTI, which developed into Epydimitis (swelling of testicals). Since then, on a couple of occasions my testicle have swelled, but this has subsided. What i currently bothering me, is i am feeling discomfort in the urethra, the urethra is less defined and feel spongy, urine tests and STD tests have come back negative. I have lack of erection too as when i urinate and ejaculate, the urethra does not seem to constrict. there are no other symptoms. what can it be??

Hi,
May be penicillin would help you. What we are discussing here are some general possibilities. When you go to Urologist, leave the decision regarding what tests to be done solely to him/her. They may like to evaluate the health of the total urinary system, including the kidney, bladder, prostate etc. In the mean time, you may Google for '  prostatitis ' and get to know various causes and symptoms of this condition for your information.

well i got treated, but fully i am not sure. I was given a 7 day course of cephalexin, which i think should have been 9 to 10 days (but recently experienced urethral irritation, discomfort, burning, discharge (colour = clear)). I have had multiple urine tests which should to be negative as well as Gonorrehea and Chlamydia test which was also negative. the most recent urine test showed protein but no nitrates or bacteria growth. I have been to doctor again.... and has been suggested non specific urethritis. i was now given penicillen 4 times daily for seven days and have put on list to see urologist i will ask for ultrasound and x-ray of prostate.. What do you think???

Hi,
When you had UTI, have you not treated it fully?, I mean did you not do the test again after treatment ( assuming you got treated), to ensure that the problem is completely gone? I hope you have been consulting a urologist, may be you should go back to him and get further tested, like an ultra sound of the urinary system. May be you have some issues with prostate.
