Penis injury from hot water

Dear Doc.

I am healthy 36 year old, uncircumcised male. I had an injury couple of months ago from steam and hot water. Since then the corona of glans (rim of penis head) is swollen and it seems to be permanent. It is itchy, irritated and very sensitive - especially after having sex which has also lost a bit of its quality. Although, visually it does not look too bad. I thought this issue will go away in time, but couple of months later it is exactly the same. Please advise how could I get it fixed.

Thank you for your advice in advance!

Kind regards,

Chris

Steam burns can be really bad, and you need to see a doctor for this. I'm not sure why you didn't go in the first place, but since lots of creams for burns aren't meant for the genital area, and you need to determine the extent of the damage, you need to see your doctor.

If lack of insurance or finances are an issue, call your local health department, and ask them what kind of services they offer for those in your situation.

I'm sorry this happened, and I hope you get some relief soon. Let us know what happens.
