Hair loss

Hi all, dont know how to explain this, i am in utter shock and am worried to no end. My hair is thinning!! And falling out during shower. I use to have a pony tail and about 3 months ago i started to notice alot of hair fall during shower and while combing, and only in the last month i noticed the fall getting more and more and also that my hair has gotten very very thin as to i can see my scalp!! In November i was on anti biotics and anitflammatory for nearly 3 weeks for a sport related injury and was under alot of stress so i dont know if that had more to do with it, i have visited 2 doctors in regards to this and 1 of them said it could be androgenetic without even doin any tests or asking about family history, he told me to use anaphase shampoo and chronotism sprays which is a course of 1 month, now its been 3 weeks and i still see hair fall in the shower and hair is thin,i have cut my pony tail so that i dont pull further hair by brushing, now the confusing bit for me is that i dont have a family history of hairloss and my twin brothers hair is fine!! So whats my problem, can some one explain who has had similar event? There are new hairs that i can see grow but are very thin like peach fuzz for now, will they grow out better? My hair thinning is on top of my head, frontal area is very thin hair and ofcourse my hair line is backed but thats coz of having a ponytail. Whats happening? Im 31, and hair has become so thin in just 3 months? Any help would be helpful please

Oh yes, men can very well have thyroid problems just like women do. See your Dr and ask to be tested. Most Drs will only test TSH which does not tell the whole story of how your thyroid is. Ask to not only have TSH, but also FT3, FT4 and antibodies tested. Insist on these tests and not just TSH.

Being under a lot of stress can make your hair fall out. So, that could be one answer. Another thought , have your thyroid levels checked.
