Hi there,
I may be able to confirm the exact cause of your symptoms only after a clinical examination. Extremely adverse weather conditions can cause thicker, tougher and hard skin since the skin on these areas grows cells extremely quickly in response to the outside stimuli. Is there any lump or growth felt under the skin? Cysts and nodules, both types of acne formations could result in hard painful bumps beneath the skin. Dermatofibromas contains scar tissue and feel like hard lumps in the skin. Immerse the hardened area in warm water that will help in softening the skin. This can be followed by a massage with oil or a cream. It is suggested to get it seen by a dermatologist. A physical examination can help in determining the exact cause and treatment of your condition. I hope it helps.
Best wishes and regards!
