varicocele, penile veins popping out, feeling of softer erections

So a few weeks ago, I noticed veins that I am able to feel pop out of my penis. The dorsal vein for one, and then one on each side. I feel like I am getting softer erections. And also I am 100% sure I have a varicocele on my right testcile which is causing some pain. I am only 17 years old and I am very active. I don’t think there is anything seriously wrong but I have an appt. on Monday with my doctor. I am scared because I was to be able to get rock hard erections and I don’t want these veins to be a sign of something very serious. If anyone could possibly give me just an assumption of each of the things I listed. Thank you very much.

Whatever you do don’t get a Vericocele Embolization. I had this procedure a couple years ago and almost immediately afterwards I began having the same problems you’re describing. After a ton of research here’s what I’ve learned. Most Vericoceles are caused by Left Renal Vein Compression (Nutcracker Syndrome) and Left Iliac Vein Compression (May-Thurner Syndrome). These two conditions can cause Pelvic Congestion Syndrome and this is why most Vericocles are Left Sided. If Congestion of the Internal Iliac Veins gets severe enough and reaches the Internal Pudendal Veins, it can plug up blood flow out of the penis and testicles. All that blood becomes trapped and begins flowing back down into all the veins in the penis and testicles.  It can also cause congestion of the right side as well causing the Right Vericoceles now. Unfortunately there is no easy fix for Nutcracker Syndrome. May-Thurner Syndrome can be fixed with a simple stenting procedure. I would recommend going to see a Vascular Specialist that is very knowledgeable about these conditions. Have you had your testosterone checked? Do you have any other symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, or depression?
