A1298C

I am in my 11th week of pregnancy. My Dr. told me today a single copy of the A1298C mutation was identified. Results for the C677T were negative. I can't find much information on having the one mutation. My doctor did not explain the results and sent me off to a genetic counselor I have yet to hear from. My questions are should I be requesting further testing and really, what are the implications for the pregnancy and my health?

Hi,
I also have one copy of A1298C.  I read a lot of scary things on the internet about it, but then met with a genetic counselor.  She said that with only having one copy it has no effect on you or a pregnancy.  The only effect it could have on your baby is if your partner is also a carrier, if the baby ends up with two copies then he/she could have problems, but just one is no big deal. So I was told.
