I've been reading about placental calcification and can't seem to find an answer to this question. I've had mild hypercalcemia for a few years and have aslo had 2 late miscarriages (consecutively) at 18 weeks. Can hypercalcemia cause placental calcification or am I way off track ? I don't smoke, so that's not a factor. Except the elevated calcium (usually about 10.9 to 11.0) I am a healthy woman who has had healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies before this calcium issue. Could the hypercalcemia lead to early placental calcification in the second trimester leading to these "missed miscarriages" I've had ?
Also of mention is that I have had explored all other possible causes, everything always comes back negative, including chromosomal karyotyping of fetus, and parents.
