DH did it! He finally got the s/a!!!

As many of you know, it's been an ongoing discussion for DH to do his s/a and he kept putting it off.

I didn't want to say anything earlier, because I didn't want to be disappointed if it didn't happen.  He had an appt to go in this morning and give his "sample".  He just called and mission accomplished!

I think when I described the HSG to him, that really made an impact as to what I'm willing to go through.  NOW we are getting somewhere!  I don't know how long it will take to get the results but I'm going to call the clinic on Monday to find out - I'm pretty sure the RE said it would take a week.

His reward - a big juicy steak and a small bottle of Captain Morgans.

My friend I was telling you about got their results on Monday and all is well w/both of them. He did his work at home & then delivered *lol* His test took about a week for the results to come back as well.

I'm SO SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY FOR YOU !!!! Can you see me doing the happy dance? I am! *lol* Now i'm gonna go poas just to celebrate!!! I hope you get the news your looking for!!! xoxoxo

I can't believe you didn't tell me!!!!  I was going to check his FB page to see if his status had changed yet!  Oh, I am so happy for you.  The best part is, well one of the many best parts is that you know he is not in fertile, you just need to see if there can be something done to make the whole process faster!  I want more details on FB!

That is great news.  I know you are so happy he finally did it.  I know that somewhere in that dark place that you only talk about with MH friends (and the millions of people who have access to this) you hope they find something that can be fixed easily and get out of the NECOT!!!  Good luck, and keep us posted.

GMB - you can do it at home, which is what he was going to do initially.  But when he called on Monday, they were too busy for him to drop it off and said because of the cold it was really best to do it at the clinic.  Plus there is a timing issue.  It has to be dropped off w/in a 1/2 hr of producing the sample and we live about 45 mins away.  They have a special room at the clinic for the man to produce his sample.  Ha, so funny when he was describing it to me.  They have a recliner, a sink, a TV and DVR.  They also tell you that you can bring in your own "materials" - LOL

If we find out that there is a problem, then depending on what it is, there may be medications he can take.  Did you know they use Clomid on men too?  If the issue is too severe then we are going for IUI.  Like Latrice said they "wash" the sperm and only use the highest quality ones for the insemination.

I'm am prepared for the worst, at this point.  I am SO SO SO happy that I flexed money this year.  I'm sure I have enough to go for one IUI, if not two (if the 1st doesn't work).

Bam: im so glad he took responsibility on his own, thats gr8.

GMB: an iui is intra-uterine insemination. The man gives a sample of his sperm, they wash the sperm  and then inseminate it into the woman, it could be put it by the uterus or in the fallopian tubes.

YAY!!!! Oh bam that is wonderful! I can't wait to hear what the results are. Hopefully if anything is wrong it's something really simple to fix and you two will be on your way to a BFP!!

The most impressive part is that not only did he do it, he did it at the clinic.  He hates dr's, hospitals and clinics.  So for him to go in was huge!  He even made the dr's appt himself.  I always have to be the one to make his appointments, but I put my foot down.  I wanted him to take full responsibility for this.

At least now he is familliar with the process, so he knows what to expect if we go for an IUI.

I am soooooo glad that he finally did this. I really think that will give ya'll a lot of the answers you have been looking for. No matter what do not get discouraged. My d/h didn't come back great, but look where we are now :) I can't wait to hear the results. I know my husband said he would NEVER do that again, but once they do it once, that's all you need!
