rising hcg after miscarriage

Hello Everyone,
First I would like to say sorry for your loss, it's not easy having a miscarriage but it's our body's way of saying something was wrong.
I found out I was pregnant on April 9th, 2012 having my last period om march 6, 2012. It seemed like a normal pregnancy, I have had 3 other pregnancies and all were born healthy and at 39 weeks give or take a couple of days, on april 24th I was spotting and that was very unusual for me so I went to emerge, the did bloodwork and and u/s and said everything looked fine, 2 days later I was bleeding lot's filling a whole pad in less that an hour, went back to emerge and the dr's said I'm having a misscarriage and confirmed it with decreasing hcg levels I should have been about 7-8 weeks but u/s sais 5 1/2 weeks.
My family dr sent me for a repeat u/s and bloodwork,  may 4 hcg levels came back >5 he told me it was neg, and u/s on may 6 showed an empty sac 4mm but there was nothing else, he said cervix is normal and everything else was normal.
April 29th my breasts were really sore so I took 3 hpt and all were pos, went to dr, tested hcg levels 1st day 51, and 48hrs later 126 he said it's a good sign but not to get excited, going for more bloodwork and u/s this week.
I guess my question is is it possible to have neg results and than hcg levels rise from the sac that was left behind, or could I possibly be pregnant? I'm so confused me and my husband really want another child, I just hate waiting

I had a miscarriage in may went to the er in June to fine my hcg  level went from zero to 212. So it is possible to conceive without receiving your period if you bleed once you stopped the shot chances are is that is was shedding of the lining of the previous pregnancy. So infant even though it seemed like a Period it was in that time you are supposed to wait a month. Except I didn't and now baby is measuring exactly 7 weeks and 2 days with a strong heart beat. My hcg level today was at 58,473 so it's always possible!!

Went to dr hcg levels doubling, from 51 to 126 and the week later it was 620 and then 2 days later was 1394, the dr said it's a good sign because they're doubling every 2 days so I went for an u/s on june 8th, and the technician said she see's an early pregnancy about 5 weeks, I'm hoping for the best but I don't want to get too excited, it's the waiting game now I guess!

If u have a miscarriage u can still test positive on a home pregnancy test for a couple of days even weeks after, it just depends what ur numbers were at the time. if u have a miscarriage but not all of the product is expelled ur numbers can still continue to rise but only a little as maybe some of the placenta has not been completly expelled.
U said ur numbers went to negative 5, so I would assume that means a complete miscarriage.
The possibility behind ur numbers rising again is that u may have a new pregnancy, is there any chance u have had sex and could have conceived? They say some women can be very fertile in the few months after a miscarriage.
I'm sorry for ur loss and I hope that the doctor can give more info when u see them
