hi guys.. this website looks like a great group of women, so I thought I would post my experience to see if anyone else has been in the same boat.
I have a 9 yr old son whom I bhad no issues carrying. However, I became pregant 3 years ago, started cramping, had an ultrasound and it was learned that I had a bicornuate uterous and that the baby had implanted in the small horn on the left side of my uterous. Due to the horn not being large enough to suport teh pregnancy, it was decided to terminate the pregnancy via surgery. At the same time they removed the small horn and wth that (as it was attached to my uterous) some of my uterous. I was told there was no reason that I could not carry a baby.
About 6 mths ago I became pregnant again and started cramping again very early in the pregnacy (4-5 weeks), on my left side mostly (where the horn was removed and also my fallopian tuve was removed by ovary left intact). I was told I had developed 3 small cysts and that maybe they were the culprit of my cramping and other feelings I was having. However, at 7 weeks an ultrasound revelaed a fetal pole with no heart beat. Therefore I took a medition to terminate my pregnancy. It is important to note that my beta (hcg) levels were not rising well either, which corresponded to corrupted development in the fetus.
So here I am again now pregnant, just over 4 weeks and cramping. In fact, I was waiting for my period to start at any minute but recently found out I was pregnant. I would love for this to be a happy experience, except I feel like the same thing is happening all over again. My OB did say that due to the surgery on my uterous there is alot of scar tissue there and it "may" cause some discomfort during a pregnancy.. but this early? I get these very funny feelings on my left side.. where there is no fallopian tube for it to be a tubal pregnancy, but the feeling is almost like something is laying on a nerve and a little stretchy crampy feeling. It is very hard to describe. the crampy feeling also goes all the way acorss very low in my pelvic area/pubic hair area. Pubic hair area feels tender, which is just below the incision scar from the surgery on my uterous.
Has anyone ever had pregnancy after surgical repair of a bicornuate uterous and can tell me if they had discomforts? mild cramps?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Bella
