How many woman concieced with one fallopian tube?

I had my right fallopian tube removed on Sept 19th and wondering what are all my possibilites.....I heard that you ovulate from left to right each ovulation......how soon after the removal did you have your baby????  And I heard the odds of having twins are higher with one tube?

I had my Left Fallopian tube taken out 5 days ago, i had it removed due to pains, I had scaring and trapped fluid. After all the upset and pain i have gone through me and my partner have decided to give it a try, the parenthood thing. We are both 30. I am absolutely loving all the stories i have read and look forward to the future. I have more appointments now over the next 3 months to find out more about my right tube. So i hope that we get success naturally but would like to say and encourage people to tell there stories as sometimes the medical side of things is not the comfort people look for. So i wish all luck with everything they want to gain for the future and big smiles for all that have reached there goals. :) x

Hi everyone, I had my left tube taken out when I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was wondering if you have less periods since you only have 1 tube?
Abigail

p.s. thanks to all the brave women sharing their painful experience. Children are joy I have a little one she is 5 months, it brings tear to my eyes when I think about if I can ever have more children. But reading your stories gives me lots of hope.

WOW, what a testimony..I can say that I havent gone through as much as you been through but I do know that when you lose a baby its so hard to go on and not want another or not want to try for another one.  I have been from DR to DR from test to test and I am finally ( i believe) getting somewhere...I lost a baby when I was 18 due to unknown causes.....I didnt know I was pregnant until I miscarried..my mother never knew and I didnt tell her......My first visit to the DR to get my first pap was when I was able to take myself and once I moved out which was when I was 19 going on 20......Yea that long without a pap or any other medical attention........I tried again when I was 20 then 21 then 22 then 23 then 24 this is where I believe I had another miscarriage because of the large clots, pain and bleeding.....I didnt go to the DR because it was the day before Easter......I went to the DR about 2wks later not wanting to hear any bad news and they said that they didnt see anything.... After that I had the dye test that confirmed that my right tube was blocked with the blighted (i think thats what is called or hydrix where it was large and filled with fluid) and that my left tube was partially blocked  but could be salvaged.  I also had 3 fibroids so I had a number of things stopping my healthy baby from coming in this world.  On Sept 19 I had my first opperation to remove the right tube and remove a fibroid and perform a D&C (myomectomy)....done by Lap surgery... After the surgery the DR told me that there was one more fibroid to take out and that she wasnted to do one more D&C then I could TTC.  I go to have surgery on this Friday and praying that everything goes well and as planned.  I still have both of my ovaries so just maybe that left tube will kick in and be greedy and take from both ovaries...  Please keep me in your deepest prayers while im on this quest.......I told the Lord having my baby is worth what all I am going through!!!!!!  I know I will be a testimony for another woman!!!!   ---------stay blessed-----

I have had 8 pregnancies.  I got pregnant iwth my first daughter when I was 20 and had her without any problems at 21.  I got pregnant with my second daughter 3 years later and had no problems.  I lost my third child at 7-8 weeks a year later when I started bleeding and the yolk sac was malformed.. I had my first son a year after that and had a subchorionic hemorrage,  I was on bed rest from 6 weeks on..  I gained 100 lbs..It was horrible..  MY husband had a vasectomy.  several years later I decided I wanted 1 more..  my husband had a reversal..  a montha after his reversal I became pregnant.  the prenancy was fine until our 12 week ultrasound where we found out the baby had died at 8 weeks .  I had a d/c.  that was 7/28/06  I was pregnant 11 weeks later It was my first period after my m/c.  I had severe dizziness and pain in my left side..  I immediately went to the er after collapsing on the floor.. the dr said they could not find anything.  BUt offered to do the exploratory surgery.  He was unable to see my right tube on ultrasound.  I said yes,  He told me that I could lose the baby if I have the surgery and it was in the uterus..  I still said yes.  I was in severe pain..  I had the surgery and they found an ectopic in my tube that ruptured as he we in..  I lost my right tube..  this was 11/06  late.  I never got my period and tested positive on 12/23/06  and went on to have a healthy baby on 9/05/07  I then got pregnant again, oops,  in 6/08  and went into premature labor with him and delivered Baby Cooper 10/07/08  he died in birth..  I was 18 weeks.  I am now trying again.  I am waiting to O.  and will test on 12/23/08 if I have not yet gotten my AF.  I have been through it and back but it is well worth it when you hold your little one..  I love my kids and some people ahve said don't you have enough.  No I'm missing one..  or two or more depending on what God gives me..  .  thats my story.  I'm sorry its so long but I have faith and my faith is what gets me through..

My best friend had an ovary removed when she was 18. She got pregnant years later but, had an abortion. Then a few years after that she got pregnant again.  So there - you can get pregnant !  Don't give up hope !

I've been pregnant twice since.  This is how my drs decribed it..  Your ovary releases your egg and you egg actually drops down behind the tube waiting to be sucked up by the tube..  either tube can pick up the egg so if you only have one tube you can get pregnant every month the one tube is doing all the work..  I got pregnant three weeks after my ectopic..
