12 mm empty sac and only 13% rise in hcg level

hiya i went for my dating scan yesterday and the sonography couldnt see anything so i had to have a internal scan which showed a 12mm sac with no contents i am rely worried about this as i have had some bloods took to see if the hormone level will rise when i have some more took 2morro they said that it could be a failed pregnancy i am so worried please help ...they are not sure how far gone as i have irregular periods but think im about 5 weeks i got my hormone level results back 2day and they have only gone up by 13% i have to go back in 10 for another ultrasound and blood test but the doctor said it does not look good i am going out my mind with worry please help !!!

thanks you for your support i dont have any bleeding or pain i feel completly normal im just worried about the hcg level not rising enought i misscarried with twins at 13 weeks at the beggining of the year i dont think i can go through it all again.

I also agree, five weeks is early yet. hearing a heartbeat is a good sign. try not to stress as there could be nothing wrong.

I agree with Heather 100%.  It may be just too early to see anything, so don't give up hope!  I know the waiting is torture, many of us have been through it.  Just take one day at a time, one step at a time and stay positive.

All I can tell you is DON'T give up HOPE!!!  Seriously this is what happened to me and the Dr said that is was going to be or was in the process of a miscarriage.  We were preparing for the worst and almost lost all hope and a week later when we went to are ultrasound apt. there was the heartbeat!  I still could not see anything and I have regular periods but I ovulated WAY later then we thought they thought for SURE that I was 7-8 weeks when in fact when the heartbeat was found I was 6.1 weeks which can be early for some to hear that!  At 5 weeks it is not unusual to not hear or see anything because it is so small.  I still could not see anything when we went back because of size.  My hcg levels were not doubling and my progesterone was 5.5 which was way to low!  Have you had any signs of a miscarriage?
