Non viable twin pregnancy ??

I should be 6wks pregnant. Between the 3rd and the 4th week i started bleeding, starting with spots than increasing slightly. Colour was bright red and with abdominal cramps. I had a scan at 5wks 6dys and the doctor said i have 2 sacs, one is collapsed with hemorrhagic material in it and the other is empty. He seems to conclude that it is a non viable twin pregnancy. I am 35 years old and have had 2 plain sailing previous pregnancies. Is there a possibility that the empty sac can somehow develop into a normal foetus? Have another scan scheduled in a weeks time but i'm going mad!! I had no pregnancy symptoms but today i am starting to feel a bit nauseous and queasy.

I think this is the worst...waiting to find the answers.  Its such a rollercoaster ride I know.  If it were me, I would want to know for sure.  A follow up scan to make sure there has been no growth, as well as blood drawn 48 hours apart to see what your levels are doing.  (same advice as Latrice).  Thats what I did last time, and although it didn't work out, I at least had the peace of mind of knowing that I was absolutely certain of non viability before I made the decision to have  a D&C.  I am so sorry you are dealing with this, and I wish you all the best.  Take care.

First i wana say im sorry for what you are going threw, try to stay focused until you see dr again, stress would not be good at this moment(i no its easier said then done)

Im not sure what to say besides wait until the next scan, and also have a hcg level drawn so you can compare it to see if numbers are going down or up.

I will keep you in my prayers, keep me posted on what happens next week
