Positive HPT, Negative Blood Results

Hello everyone,

I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. This was my first pregnancy and I had recently had surgery to unblock my tubes (one partially blocked & the other completely blocked). My husband and I have been using otc ovulation kits to help with ttc. My dr. said I would get my cycle back 4 to 6 weeks after the miscarriage (no complications, normal as my dr would say). I started the kit and soon after I got the :) I took a hpt (clearblue digital). nothing happened!! I waited one week and this made me 30 days from my 1st period. Took the second test and it was positive!  Thought I was seeing things so I used the same urine for a second test. The digital test said pregnant again! Went to a different dr than my fertility spec because I am out of state and it was neg on the urine same 2 days back to back and on the third day(Friday) the blood sample said negative as well. I'm confused.  I think that I might have had a miscarriage over the weekend b/c I have had some bleeding with clots for Sat and Sun... Just curious if anyone has had this happen to them and what they think might be going on...

thanks

I've also had this many times and the doctors said i had miscarried very early. they were surprised it had shown on a test. I was told to wait for my next period and then start trying again. hope this helps.. sorry for your loss..

I'm sorry to hear of your loss.  Yes it has happened to me a few times.  My dr told me that it was a chemical pregnancy and said that since it was so early that most women don't realize that they were actually pregnant.  Told me that my cycle may be a bit heavier however I could just try again that month w/out having to wait.
