fibroids

Hi,
I had a miscarriage in 4th week in september after only a month of trying. and since then we r trying but no luck :(. i desperately want to be a mom. When I was 16 i used to have really painful periods with severe nausea and constipation and when i went to see the gynocologist she said that i have a tiny fibroid, she gave me some medicine and after few months i was normal. and now i am 30 never had any problem with my periods. when i had this miscarriage i went to see the dr and she did a scan and she confirmed that i am no more pregnant but she did not mention that i have any complication in terms of fibroid. does anyone know anything abt fibroid. like if u have it in any part of ur life does it effect u being pregnant and can a dr see when they scan? reply early pls

Fibroids on the inside surface can definitely cause a miscarriage- it can affect implantation and blood flow to the baby if implantation does happen.  You can also have fibroids throughout the uterus that won't cause any problems because they are deeper in the uterus.

I would ask your doctor about these as they can usually be seen ok usually on an ultrasound. My MD commented on a large fibroid I have inside my uterus, not on the inner surface though. She said she could probably only see that because I was pregnant (with a blighted ovum:( ) and the gestational sac made it more visible.

Best of luck to you

I am not sure how fiberoids plays into pregnancy. I think it depends on the location.
I had a polyp removed in sept & just had a miscarriage in early Jan.  I am schedule on tuesday to have another HSG because I am told it's possible it grew back & those can cause m/c.  How about googling fiberoids? Did you try that?
