Am I still pregnant???

Im 37 & this is my first pregnancy. I didnt even suspect I was prego.  My period was almost 2 wks late, but we are dealing with my fiance's mother learning she has terminal cancer. I thought it was stress. After several days of nausa & headache, I did begin to spot.Figuring I had a flu bug, I went to Urgent Care, mostly because I had missed work & needed a Drs note. Well, I was shocked when they told me I was pregnant! They just gave me an excuse for work & told me the spotting was probably implantation bleeding & gave me a recommondation for an OB/GYN. I called an OB/ GYN the next morning(yesterday) & they got me in a few hrs later. They did a vaginal ultrasound & said they didnt see a sack in the womb. I could be miscarrying or not 5 wks yet as they had thought. He told me to go to the lab to have blood tested for hcg levels then go back to lab to test again on Sat (tomorrow) then call him on Tues. After the ultrasound I had more cramping( about like my normal period) The bleeding was alittle heavier than spotting. I seen 1 clot maybe the size of a quarter. Last night I didnt bleed at all while sleeping. All day today, on & off cramps & light bleeding. That Dr office wasnt open today when I called. I called the lab, they wouldnt tell me my levels, said only my Dr can discuss that with me. Im so worried, its 2:30 am & I cant sleep. Is it unusual to be left hanging like this for days? I dont know if I have it in me to go in & work 10 hrs Monday morning with all this hanging over me. I would greatly appreciate any advice or

It was indeed a hard time. I was brought to the heaven and dropped to the hell in 5 days. My husband and family were so supportive or I couldn't get over it. I'm recovering now, will try again in may or June, just to be well prepared.

Thank you. Ive really been worrying about it maybe being an ectopic pregnancy. It was a real shock to be pregnant at all, so I got really excited right away. My fiance is a wonderful, supportive man & keeps reminding me that no matter how this turns out, at least now we know we can get pregnant.

I hope my experience will not shock you but it could be the case.

I ttc with my husband on 15 Dec, on 27 Dec period arrived so we thought I didn't get pregnant. On 8 Jan started spotting, it was so strange because period just ended 5 days ago, but the light bleeding was carry on. I went to see gyn on 14 Jan that the urine pregnancy test was positive and hcg was 643, but she couldn't find the sac in the uterus. I was told it is very likely a miscarriage, but I should check again my hcg 48 hours later, if it decreased then most likely a miscarriage, if it increased then it could be an ectopic pregnancy. I went back to check the level on 17 Jan, it was 710 and still nothing in the uterus(not good), and final check on 19 Jan, it was 776. I was diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy. The period on 27 Dec was not a true period.

I understand waiting over the weekend for an answer is like years, but it is not something you can control. Relax and bedrest is what you can do now. Avoid cold drinks and raw food, have some hi-calcium milk, green leaves vegetables. No matter what result, I'm sure your husband will be at your side to support you.
