pregnant after miscarriage?

Hi

I had a complete miscarriage 3 weeks ago on the 3rd of January and bleeding lasted until the 11th.   Around about the 16th/17th of January i experienced very slight pain in the lower abdomen and had clear stringy discharge, my husband and i had unprotected sex during this time.  I had a negative pregnancy test on the 22nd January, however yesterday the 24th and today the 25th i have done two tests and a very faint line has been present.  i also had mild lower abdominal pain on the 24th and slight tenderness of the breasts.  I am driving myself mad wondering if this is simply pregnancy hormones left over from the miscarriage or could i be pregnant again.  Would a test show a positive so soon even a very faint one?

Anyone had similar experience?

I'm sorry for your loss. It is hard to say my dr always told me it takes 3 cycles or more for your body to regulate but with my last natural m/c I got pg with my son a month later. I made sure that my hcg went to zero so there would be no confusion. Spotting and cramping and any time of pain is common side affects during and after a m/c. I would try to get into your dr's and have your blood drawn. I would hate for you to get your hopes up or just the opposite be pg and think your not! Best wishes to you and let me know what happens!

On the 16th/17th, it sounds like you ovulated, if you ovulated you can get pregnant.  Usually after a miscarriage you don't ovulate until after your levels go to zero (I could be wrong, but I thought that's what I read a while back).  It sounds like you had EWCM (Egg White Cervical Mucus) and ovulation cramps.  Where the cramps on one side?  (Most of the time they are on the side that you ovulated on, and alternate, although I've read some women don't feel it on one side or the other).

If the 16th is when you ovulated yesterday would have been 9DPO and it's POSSIBLE to have gotten a BFP.  Some women can test early like that.  Personally I wait till I missed my period because the tests are not cheap and I don't want to waste money, lol.  I'm getting ready to test on Thursday if AF doesn't arrive!

Also, you said you got a negative test on the 22nd, if there were hormones left over you would not have gotten a negative.

Congrats!!
