Good news to share!
Hello friends!
I have taken a month away from the forum to go through a month of testing. I am completing my first year on Gilenya so it was time to determine the test results.
First I saw the ete doctor to test for Macular degeneration. I also had a complete eye exam. I was thrilled to find out that there was absolutely no changes! Ther were no signs of degeneration at all and my vision remained the same.
Next came the annual MRI of the brain and spinal cord... No new lesions at all!!!! Last year on the Copaxone I was always filled with active lesions and relapses. I have had no relapses or flare ups this whole year (knock wood!)
Finally, my physical therapist gave me a functional performance test and I literally blew my former scores away! I surpassed all of my therapists goals in balance, strength and for the first time ever walking speed increased! I was so happy, I started crying!
I can't believe the progress I have made with Gilenya this year. It has truly been life saving!
To celebrate we went on a 10 day Caribbean cruise. :)

Congratulations Deb! So happy for you! I'm so behind on the forum but did just read a response you posted on one of my past ones where you said it felt good to participate in life again! wooo hooo!!!!! That combined with this I'm just so excited for you :) May you enjoy many many more days like these!
