Home neuro called, wants appt

The Big Neuro who did the three-day appt with me at the big medical center a bit more than a month ago has FINALLY sent the notes to my home neuro. My home neuro's office called and said that they want me to make an appt to "go over all of the results and then make a plan for what to do about my symptoms."

Does that sound promising? A plan? No one has EVER mentioned in the last year any PLAN to do anything about anything. I think it sounds promising. Does it?

Guess I'll find out.

Finally!!!!  You got their attention now and finally you are going to get some help and hopefully even a dx.  Wow, wouldn't that be nice.

So, I am over here doing the "Snoopy" dance for you.

This is really great news.  We'll all be waiting to hear how your appointment goes.

Take care,

Julie

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your home neuro is helpful and informative! I'm hoping you get both a diagnosis AND a treatment plan, and feel like you're being taken seriously.

Good luck!!

I for one will be positive and filled with Pronoia (the antidote for paranoia, Rob Brezsny).

I'll believe that something positive will come of this.  I'll get my hopes up for you, and you can be as  blase' as you you need.

I'll be hoping for the best!

And I agree that having Home Neuro to follow-up beats the heck out of going to see Big Neuro, not getting answers, and being left hanging in the breeze (my neuro #2).  It sounds like Big Neuro is ready to take a deep comprehensive look at everything and try to come to a conclusion, which I'll choose to believe is an answer.

Next Wednesday isn't that far off; cool they fit you in so soon for an extended visit.

Be well,

Kathy

Well, I called to make the appt, and the nurse got on and said, "OK, let's get you right in," and made the appt for next week. She made some reference to one appt time as "giving me plenty of time," and then she said, "You'll be going over all the results with Dr. XX and coming to some sort of conclusion." I could tell that she was trying to say something without actually saying it, know what I mean? What I couldn't tell was whether or not the point was that we were concluding our relationship OR that we were going to draw some real conclusions.

As always, I'm paranoid--given that no two neuros or neurosurgeons have agreed on anything about this, I just don't know what will happen. My husband has pointed out that Home Neuro REFERRED me to Big Neuro and respects Big Neuro a great deal, and Big Neuro's final words were, "You will need to be followed by your Home Neuro," so we're hoping that means I won't be "let go," at any rate.

Appt is next Wed. We'll see.

Hey Bio,

I too think this sounds very positive.  It's not as if your Dr office was going to say, treat this disease, etc.

After all this time, it's understandable to be completely blasee over it all - afterall, if you get your hopes up and you get no answers, you'd get that rush of emotion you don't want ontop of you.

Sending you positive thoughts and hoping the Big neuro told the Little neuro what to do!

Well, I do understand where you're coming from. It's sort of two cheers. Yes, you do want to go over what the big neuro has said, and yes, you want symptoms treated. But more than that, you want a *diagnosis* for Pete's sake.

If they keep sliding over that, force the issue. Plans are well and good, but sometimes you have to make a new plan, Stan, get off the bus, Gus, and set yourself free.

Good luck, and let us know how you'll proceed.

Silly, Rabbit!  The most positive (instead of wishy-washy) thing that has happened in years and you may let it slide!!!  Prepare to be whooped if you do.

I didn't like the fact that they said they were going to treat the symptoms, yet I am trhilled that you might get some help for your symptoms.  I was hoping that they would discuss your diagnosis!

I'll be expecting a full report by the time I log in tomorrow.

Hear?

Hi, Terry--

Not sure. Of course, I missed the call and got the voicemail well after office hours. The thing is, I'm so laid back about it all lately since I've truly ruled out spine surgery that I didn't even care! I may even forget to call tomorrow the way things go around here these days.
